Audience

Diploma of Work Health and Safety will allow you to gain skills and knowledge related to work health and safety for your organisation and reflects the role of individuals including Safety Manager, Senior WHS officer and WHS Manager. It is also ideal for supervisors and HR staff.

Course objectives

Work Health and Safety practicioners play a vital part in any organisation. The skills and knowledge you gain in this qualification, will allow you to work as a WHS coordinator, WHS advisor, health and safety officer and WHS manager. As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level provide guidance to others and have responsibility for workplace health and safety.

Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety develops such proficiency and knowledge for the aspiring leader and manager. On successful completion of your course and all assessments, you will receive a Nationally recognised qualification outlining the course completed and the units within that course.

Assist with effective WHS management of contractors

Pre-requisites
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' employment, working within the work health and safety related area or another area of a council where your responsibilites relate to Work Health and Safety.
  • All core units in BSB41415 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent competencies. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to the following units which have been mapped as equivalent:
    BSBWHS402 Assist with compliance with WHS laws
    BSBWHS403 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS consultation and participation processes
    BSBWHS404 Contribute to WHS hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
    BSBWHS405 Contribute to implementing and maintaining WHS management systems
    BSBWHS406 Assist with responding to incidents
  • Qualification/Statement of Attainment must be provided as proof of competency for the prerequisite units
  • The qualification requires an underlying level of English language and literary.
Delivery
Our instructor-led Diploma provides participants with interactive sessions including group discussions, case study reviews, question and answer sessions. Our training course includes all course training materials, assessment and mentoring/assistance by your allocated trainer.
Duration & location
Our standard structure for this course is 6 full days to be completed over a period of six months and can be delivered in any metropolitan or regional area of Queensland.
