About Aaron

Aaron Bradford is a Senior Associate at Peak Services Legal who obtained his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business Management from the University of Queensland in 2015 and was admitted as a Legal Practitioner to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2016.

Aaron’s experience as a lawyer and pre-admission covers industrial relations, employment, safety and insurance working with both private and public sector clients at mid-large commercial law firms, McInnes Wilson, Clayton Utz and Thomson Geer.

Aaron is an experienced industrial relations practitioner with expertise in industrial, employment and safety law. Aaron advises clients on a range of industrial and employment law matters including unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination and harassment, workplace health and safety policy and prosecutions, workers’ compensation, restraint of trade, enterprise bargaining, industrial action and disputes. Aaron’s experience spans both the public and private sector and he has worked as an Associate in legal practice.

Key Experience

Successfully appealed a decision on behalf of 7 Councillors

resulting in the overturning of an interim reinstatement order in an adverse action claim

Ensured the successful approval of a Certified Agreement for a Council

Drafted all pre-approval documentation for distribution to employees and assistance with QIRC documents

Advising on a complex Federal to State transfer of business

From an industrial relations perspective for a State government department

Redeveloped the workplace investigations framework for a State government

For a State government department to reflect best practice and compliance with legislative requirements.

Acted in the first workplace health and safety category 1 prosecution in Queensland

Acted on behalf of a publicly listed company in relation to three contentious executive terminations

Including the CEO which involved complex issues in relation to retirement benefits

Successfully stopped industrial action

By two applications to the Fair Work Commission that was scheduled to occur over a critical holiday period

Successfully defended a majority support determination application brought by a major union

Assisted a State government client

To deal with potential FBT liability arising as a result of secondment arrangements.
