Back

It’s not the 'Roaring 1920s' but it is the 2020s, so it’s only appropriate that we should 'roar' into 2023 with our range of local government range training programs.

Just like the dance crazes of the day - the Charleston, the Shimmy, the Fox Trot and the Tango  - we offer a variety of enjoyable courses to suit all types, all roles and all levels within council.

Our specialty is developing customised workshops specifically designed for the Local Government Sector.

Our January-June 2023 Virtual Training Calendars have now been released.

All courses are available to be delivered face-to-face. For your convenience, virtual training is a quick, cost effective and convenient way to upskill your staff.

“The cat’s pyjamas” (1920’s phrase meaning “the most excellent; coolest”), is how we would describe some of our NEW course additions. They include the much anticipated new LGA50120 Diploma Local Government (Corporate Services. This course will help provide the skills and knowledge to develop management systems and plans and policies within the local government context.

During the “Roaring 20’s”, we doubt people thought too much about the environment , but today Queensland councils play a key role in managing and protecting our natural resources and working towards protecting our environment. To upskill council officers in workplace sustainability and understanding environmentally sustainable work practices, in 2023 we are offering two new courses delivered by Dr. Fabian Sack.

LGASS00010 Manage Workplace Sustainability

BSBSUS411 Implement and Monitor Environmentally Sustainable Work Practices
Based on consultation with industry stakeholders, the Climate Resilient Leadership Workshop has been contextualised for individuals engaged in leadership positions assisting organisations in addressing climate risks and opportunities.

In 2023, as WHS legislation focuses on staff emotional safety, we have scheduled a large number of Wellness Webinars. Our one-hour series includes topics such as Change Your ThinkingDropping AnchorBreaking Bad – Habits, and Everyday Resilience delivered by our fully qualified Trainer and Registered Counsellor David Contarini. These and other wellness courses can be delivered face to face at council.

We “shimmy” along to our new trainer and new course additions focussing on Leadership.   Sue-Ellen Kusher’s 3 Levels of Communication training provides three individual one-day courses that can be chosen individually or as part of an overall upskilling of supervisors/leaders. This training is delivered face-to-face only, to ensure the best possible learning experience.

Level 1: Lead Self

Level 2: Lead Teams

Level 3: Lead Units.

The “Roaring 20’s” did take the world into a new era – a break from the past into the future.

With our world moving as fast as it does, 2023 is bound to be yet another fresh and exciting year for Queensland councils.
